Project Details

In 2013 on behalf of BCU, the main contractor on site NG Bailey (Based in Denton, Greater Manchester), approached Flatvision as they were looking for a selection of CCTV monitors, to be positioned in their brand new control room. The specification was that the displays needed to be able to handle 24/7 usage, have a crystal clear image and easy to navigate. Flatvision didn’t hesitate in suggesting the ‘UltraVision’ range, as they fitted the specification perfectly.

As two of the displays were to be fitted onto the wall, they needed to be as slim as possible to take up the least amount of space, which is where our ‘UltraVision-46 ULT’ displays came in, as they have an ‘Ultra Thin Bezel’ of 3.5mm.

Fast forward to 2015, Birmingham City University opened their new Curzon Building, which promised to house around 3,000 students who were studying either English, Law or Social Sciences and would be the new home to a large library, IT suite and over 1,000m of learning space for all students.

As BCU were so impressed with Flatvision’s displays used in The Parkside Building, they again asked NG Bailey to source the same displays for the new control room.

With this new project, we again provided our ‘UltraVision’ range, but the sizes differed to 40″ and 19″ – They were installed in a similar layout to the previous control room, but this time a whole video wall, which covered more areas on the ever expanding campus.
